Jonathan Aprea is an American actor, best known for his role as the young Salvatore Tessio in The Godfather: Part II.
He appeared on the 1st Annual On Cinema Oscar Special, discussing what it was like to work on an Oscar-nominated movie. Host Tim Heidecker was surprised to learn that Aprea did not actually go to the awards ceremony, having not been personally nominated for an Oscar, while guest Gregg Turkington asked him to sign his copy of The Godfather: Part II. Aprea did sign the back cover of the tape, though Heidecker accidentally erased the signature later in the night.
John was later brought in as a guest on On Cinema at the Cinema during S03E08, along with Ayaka Ohwaki, due to personal issues with Turkington, the previously scheduled guest. He congratulated Heidecker and Ohwaki on their newly formed romance. He also expressed interest in being a more frequent guest, hoping to be back every week.
He appeared during the Oscar Fantasy segment of the 2nd Annual On Cinema Oscar Special, presenting Heidecker with an Oscar for Best Actor in a fictional scenario.
John passed away on August 5th, 2024, at the age of 83.[1]
