History
First draft, could be better.
Toni was one of the 11 jurors at the Electric Sun trial against Tim Heidecker, although this was unknown at the time. She was the sole juror that said Tim was not guilty, leading to the mistrial verdict. It is unknown when she first made contact with Tim after this, but after Tim rage-quit On Cinema, she became the manager of Tim's campaign against Vincent Rosetti to become District Attorney of San Bernadino County. This campaign was documented in Mister America, and was a complete failure for Tim.
She returned in season 11, joining Tim's newly formed HEI Inc. as the chief financial officer of the corporation. She quickly urged Tim to make some harsh decisions to ease up on all the debt, including the firing of Joe Estevez and the dissolution of Dekkar. Tim started to live with her at the time, and, by the end of the season, they had married.
This first marriage was short-lived, as Tim annulled the marriage in order to stage a much more elaborate marriage in the form of the 7th Annual On Cinema Oscar Special. Toni was not made aware of his plans and was shocked at first, but went along afterwards. Tim invited Toni's family, including her parents and son, along with his own son. The wedding was spoiled by an unfortunate case of carbon monoxide poisoning from Gregg Turkington's Mobile VFA.
Toni helped Tim launch the HEI Network in late 2020, and co-hosted the 8th Annual On Cinema Oscar Special in 2021. She was set to be a big part of season 12, until she had an affair with Axiom at the Rock House on her birthday. Alcohol was to blame, leading to her going to rehab for most of the season. Tim tried to contact her in rehab and get her out early and back to HEI Inc., to no avail. When she did return near the end of the season, she was newly sober and told Tim she was leaving him. She expressed a ton of regret and stated that she knew he was guilty.
Tim was kicked out of her house, with Tim starting to live at the Rock House and eventually at the HEI Ranch. During the 9th Annual On Cinema Oscar Special that took place at said ranch, LaRue played footage that he had stolen from the rehab Toni stayed at with her revealing tons of embarassing information about Tim, including elaborate.
Two years later, “Judge” Joe Estevez told Tim, now known as T. Amato and deeply entrenched in The Amato Group, on On Cinema On Demand that he had heard that the Electric Sun victims were pressuring the District Attorney to reopen the case, also hearing that Toni was talking with the DA. T. stated that “we can't allow that”, looking at co-host Joey Patrocelli and briefly leaving the set to make a call. A few weeks later, news broke that Toni's son, Matt Newman, was shot in a reported “home invasion”.
Toni appeared on OCOD the next episode to get support for Matt and played the Ring security cam footage of the shooting. The footage showed a heavily disguised man ring the doorbell. Matt opened the door, the man asked “is Toni home?”, and an armed Matt shot the man first, only for the man to fire back. Toni appeared to be unaware of what the shooter said until Gregg mentioned it, being increasingly horrified when she heard it herself. T. asked her if she had talked to the DA, to which she said that they had contacted her but she had refused to talk to them, wanting to move on from that dark time in her life.
