Cards and letters

Throughout On Cinema, both Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington receive, or claim to receive, copious amounts of fan mail supporting their respective projects, viewpoints, or actions, or detracting from those of others. Gregg, in particular, regularly claims to receive cards and letters from fans and viewers of the show, although both he and Tim often claim support from various sources of outside opinion.

Gregg first started mentioning having received cards and letters on Podcast Episode 25: "Legal Eagles", as a way of expressing the general positive feeling fans were having as the show hit its 25th episode.

In S1E03, Gregg thanks the viewers for all the cards and letters requesting that he appear on the show more often.^[1]
In S2E01, Gregg again thanks viewers for asking for him to appear more often.^[2]
In S4E05, Gregg airs a video of well-wishes he received from various Hollywood stars in support of his 500 Movies in 500 Days campaign, including from Joe Estevez and Jimmy McNichol.^[3]
In S4E07, Tim claims that Larry Turman was the most popular guest in On Cinema history.^[4]
In S5E07, Gregg says he changed his mind about his opposition to appearing in Decker thanks to the cards and letters he received from fans.^[5]
In S5E08, Gregg thanks the audience for their continued cards and letters concerning Decker.^[6]
In S7E05, Tim says the previous episode was the highest-rated episode in On Cinema history.^[7]
In S7E06, Tim and Gregg both claim to have read overwhelmingly negative and positive reviews (respectively) of Decker vs. Dracula, and Gregg says Tim will receive lots of hate mail for canceling the show.^[8]
In the Fourth Oscar Special, Tim and Gregg both start Twitter polls to determine whether Ant-Man or Fantastic Four was the best film of the year.^[9]
In the same special, while in a shouting match with Tim during the Tribute to James Bond segment, Gregg claims that Dekkar has received horrible reviews online.^[9]

Tim's Mail Bag

This was a segment created by Gregg in which he brought in a sack stuffed with letters supposedly written to Tim by fans of the show, and had Tim read them on air. The letters invariably tended to be supportive of Gregg.
