Tim and Gregg discuss Decker and review Goosebumps and Bridge of Spies.
Synopsis
Today's introduction is short and sweet, marked only by Tim saying he will make a “major announcement” about his involvement in the third season of Decker following the episode.
Tim seems in a hurry, and moves through the movie reviews quickly. The first movie on the docket is Goosebumps, “a horror-comedy for kids,” as Tim describes it. Gregg thought it was “an unofficial Tim Burton movie,” and wishes Johnny Depp was in it, but still liked it.
For Bridge of Spies, Tim wants to stand for the review out of respect for the film's director, Steven Spielberg, but the crew is unable to frame the shot. Tim says they should at least sit up straight, but Gregg says awarding the film five bags is the “ultimate sign of respect.” As for the reviews, Tim, of course, praises Spielberg, as well as Tom Hanks. Gregg says he was “a little disappointed” that the film seemed like more of a courtroom drama, instead of science fiction, which is more Spielberg's niche. All the while, Tim nags Gregg for his rating, which Gregg of course says is five bags.
It comes time for the major Decker announcement. Gregg begins to plug the 20-episode format and the big finale, but Tim interrupts to make the real announcement, which is that the new show (Decker vs. Dracula) is canceled. Tim says Gregg's first three episodes are “a disaster,” and proceeds to excoriate Gregg for “pissing on” the Decker franchise. Gregg attempts to defend himself, but Tim aggressively tells him to shut up. They spend the rest of the episode in a heated argument, Tim ruing the day he ever let Gregg near the franchise, and Gregg vowing that Tim is going to get enormous amounts of hate mail for canning the show.
