Miriam Waymon was the Assistant District Attorney of San Bernardino County in 2018. She joined District Attorney Vincent Rosetti in the prosecution of the murder trial against Tim Heidecker. By April 2024, she had become District Attorney herself.[1]

On May 2nd, 2024, DA Waymon held a press conference addressing the fatal shooting of Matt Newman. She announced that the county government had arrested Joaquin Neville as a suspect. She had no comment on Heidecker's claims that G. Amato was connected to the shooting.
