Gregg states he would like to see a sequel, in which Billy Kramer would deal with his own divorce. Gregg would later produce a live sequel to Kramer vs. Kramer during the The New On Cinema Oscar Special based on this concept, entitled Kramer vs. Kramer 2.

Despite forgetting Justin Henry's name, Gregg would later meet and work with Henry during the production of Kramer vs. Kramer 2.
