Golden Age Comedies
Golden Age Comedies was a short-lived segment created and produced by Gregg Turkington for his brief stint as the host of On Cinema at the Cinema, at the start of season 6.
After Tim Heidecker announced in the season 5 finale that he was done with On Cinema, Gregg became the new host, and Golden Age Comedies was one of the segments Gregg created for the revamped show. The segment featured Mark Proksch, in character as W.C. Fields, presenting a comedy film from Gregg's VHS collection.
The segment debuted in On Cinema at the Cinema Season 6 Episode 1: "Jupiter Ascending" and "The Spongebob Movie". It only lasted for two episodes, however, as Tim nixed it from the show's repertoire after his return to the host seat in the very next episode.
Gregg brought the segment back once more in s09e07, when he hosted the show while Tim was jailed following the Electric Sun Desert Music Festival.
