Guest Gregg Turkington theorized that this issue could potentially be tumors. Tim and his wife Stephanie refused to get surgery for the issue, stating that it was a personal decision. However, at the start of On Cinema at the Cinema (season 3), Tim reveals he did get the surgery, despite Stephanie's wishes. Shortly after the surgery, Stephanie divorced Tim for unknown reasons.
