X
X, formerly known as Twitter, is a social media platform that is the home of the greatest minds in politics, movies, religion, and more. Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington were avid users of X, along with various other On Cinema members, and some posts (formerly called “tweets”) are a major aspect of certain events, such as Gregg tracking his #501MoviesIn501Days progress. Since 2023, though, neither Tim or Gregg have actively used the service. The On Cinema at the Cinema X account remains active, as do accounts for some other members of the show like Axiom and Manuel Giusti. Tim and Gregg have since used the HEI Network comments section, blogs like HEI Network News and Movie Time! with Gregg Turkington, and bluesky to remain socially active.

Grok
Grok is a generative AI chatbot developed by xAI that launched in November 2023, available both through X and through a separate app. Tim, currently going by New Heidecker, has started actively using the service as of the 2025 Summer Movie Roundup special, using it to seek advice and assist him in his ongoing lawsuit against sizzler.

Trivia
[META]
- Tim constantly shifted between using his account in character and out of character, often promoting his other works like Office Hours Live or engaging/arguing with people.
- Tim briefly deleted his account in June 2023, following harassment from right-wing figures like Tim Pool, though quickly restored it. Following the restoration, outside of the occasional promotion or in character tweet, the account was then managed by Phil Braun, who had been posting “verified” and heavily-watermarked pictures of Tim, parodying Clint Eastwood's account.
- Tim's Twitter account permanently stopped posting in December 2024, when it was hacked. In the aftermath of the hack, the account was made private, blocking access to the account to anyone that was not following him already. His profile picture, banner, and accounts followed were also blanked.
- A running gag that Phil Braun had started to do on Tim's account was to give daily updates on Jimmy Carter's status, always saying “No change in status”, a joke about Jimmy Carter's surprising resilience after being put into hospice care in early 2023. The last “Jimmy Carter update” before the hack was made on December 15, 2024. Jimmy Carter died 2 weeks later, on the 29th.
- Conversely, Gregg's Twitter account never breaks character, outside of his likes.
