This week On Cinema reviews the latest releases by Soderbergh and Spielberg, including “Jurassic Park 3D,” where Tim shows his staunch devotion to the third dimension.

Synopsis

Tim starts the show by thanking his guest, Gregg Turkington, for the segment on Jimmy McNichol from last week's show. Gregg says it was a pleasure to talk to Jimmy, and with that Tim jumps straight into the review for The Company You Keep. Gregg calls it “a special film,” as it both teaches and entertains. Tim says he was excited for the ending to happen, which Gregg agrees is “the mark of a good film.” They award it four and five bags, respectively.

Both are excited for the next review, Jurassic Park 3D. Tim, expecting the show to switch to 3D at this point, becomes irritated when it does not. He spends several minutes upbraiding the crew, saying he was told they would be able to do the show in 3D, while Gregg tries to sneak in snippets of a review. When finally allowed to proceed, Gregg is thankful that nothing has changed from the original Jurassic Park other than the 3D re-release. Tim interjects again with his displeasure, however, and Gregg tries to act positive to defuse the tension.

The next segment is intended to be a tribute to Steven Spielberg, but Gregg interrupts to present Tim with a unique gift: a tape of the Spanish-language version of Jurassic Park, titled El Parque Jurásico. Gregg describes it as “very unique,” but Tim seems more confused by it than anything, complaining that he can't read the text on the box. Gregg says that it would be fun to watch it with friends after a few drinks, but this does not seem to alleviate Tim's bewilderment. After the lights dim, he returns to voicing his displeasure with the crew.
