Tim and Gregg review two hotly awaited movies while also laying the groundwork for a much-anticipated sequel.

Synopsis

Tim thanks the viewers for the “outpouring of love” he received on his return to the show; Gregg expresses gratitude for the good feedback he received as well. Tim says that he and Gregg are now roommates and have been “watching a lot of movies together,” as well as discussing the future of Decker. He is currently experiencing “writer's block” on the script of Decker 2, but he and Gregg both seem optimistic about the endeavor.

The first movie on the docket, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, features Chevy Chase, and some random character named Lou. Tim is glad that the film “solves some of those mysteries” from the end of the first film, and says it is very funny. Gregg describes the franchise as “the Airplane (1980, 87 mins) of our generation,” a universally-loved comedy with unique “wisecracks” and jokes that spawned a sequel. He concurs that the film does a good job of resolving the unanswered questions from the first film.

McFarland USA reminds Tim of Seth McFarlane, from Family Guy and Ted. Tim says it “isn't your typical Kevin Costner movie,” which Gregg disagrees with, comparing it to Field of Dreams. Gregg opines that Costner had “lost his way” in his career after that film, and this one brings him “back home” to the sports drama genre. Remarkably, Tim agrees with this assessment, and says he is working on learning to admit when he is wrong. He learned this virtue from values.com, a site he recommends to the viewers for motivational advice.

After plugging the upcoming Third Oscar Special, an On Cinema On Location segment is aired. Gregg appears at the tunnel from….Decker! Specifically, where Decker rides his motorcycle in the credits sequences. Tim is pleasantly surprised with this choice of location. He tells Gregg he appreciates his enthusiasm for Decker, and asks if he would like to help him with the writing for Decker 2, and possibly work in the Codebreaker Kingston character. Gregg says he would love to, and the two shake hands over it.
