The tenth season of On Cinema at the Cinema, also known as OCX, began airing March 22, 2018. The season's OCX branding features a visual refresh, with a black box theater setting. A large OCX logo takes center stage, with product-placement stands flanking the host and co-host chairs. Additionally, this season features the first-ever episodes of On Cinema filmed in 360-degree virtual reality.

Tim Heidecker starts the season hoping to get things back on track after his murder trial. His optimism is short-lived, however, when the family of Chris Delgado, along with other families of the Electric Sun 20, start a civil suit against Tim. One by one, the Delgados begin seizing Tim's intellectual properties, including Decker and Dekkar, with On Cinema in their crosshairs as well.

The ensuing legal battles drain Tim emotionally and financially, to the point where he is “tapped out.” Having lost everything, including the On Cinema brand, Tim is moments away from un-aliving when he is saved by his former defense attorney, Mark Dwyer, who manages to work out a deal with the Delgados at the last minute. Tim is given 30 days to make On Cinema a quality product, and is permitted to continue hosting the show, although Gregg Turkington will exercise increased creative control.

Meanwhile, Gregg takes prominent director Tim Burton to task for not agreeing to direct Sherlock Gnomes (2018, 87 mins). Finding Burton's response to his letter unsatisfactory, Gregg writes the director a series of open letters demanding he explain himself, and offering him the chance to appear on the show and restore his reputation with the film buff community. Burton, however, maintains his silence.
