The great Tom Hanks lights up the silver screen once more. Also, Gregg welcomes a very special guest.
Synopsis
Gregg and Mark, as upbeat as ever, are back for more movie expertise, without Tim Heidecker hanging over their heads. For today's episode, they introduce a special guest, the one and only Joe Estevez from Decker. Joe comes on stage and effusively greets the pair. He then relates that on a recent trip to Boise, he was able to “stop off” and visit Tim in jail. He says Tim feels “worse than anybody” about what happened at the Electric Sun Desert Music Festival; Gregg replies that the families of the 18 teenage victims likely feel worse. Joe agrees, but says Tim is unhappy in jail and wants to call into today's show using his phone privileges. Not a minute later, Joe's phone rings, and Tim is on the other end of the line.
Tim says he wants to give his love to the On Cinema family and thank everyone for their “kind words.” He thanks Mark for filling in, and says he feels terrible about what happened. To Gregg, he admits having to “eat crow” and acknowledge that Gregg was right about Dr. San, who “put me in a bad spot here.” He reveals that his lawyer and the district attorney have worked out “a path for me, provided I do certain things,” and that he will be leaving jail and returning the next day. Tim claims that the case is focused on Dr. San rather than himself, so the whole thing should blow over soon. Joe says he is overjoyed; Gregg and Mark are completely dumbfounded.
After Tim hangs up, Joe gives Gregg and Mark some potato-themed goodies from his trip to Boise, including some actual Idaho potatoes. He then tells a story about his flight from Boise to California, on which he won free drinks for his whole row thanks to having Idaho potatoes in his luggage. Gregg and Mark listen in stunned silence.
