Tim and Gregg butt heads on whether sound effects in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' are more impressive than the Hollywood visuals, and Gregg delivers more expertise into cinema history in another On Location segment.
Synopsis
Tim is sporting a pair of sunglasses to cover his still-swollen right eye, and his right hand is still in a cast. As Tim is effectively blind, Gregg offers to help him read the cards, but Tim opts to rely on an earpiece through which an offscreen crew member speaks his lines to him.
This makes the synopsis of Guardians of the Galaxy rather cumbersome to get through, but Tim finally makes it. He loved the film, saying it was “different than your normal Superman, Batman, etc.” He praises the sound effects and dialogue in particular. Gregg opines that Tim is “only really seeing half the movie” due to his lack of sight, and questions Tim's right to review the film in his condition. Tim finds this “offensive.” As to Gregg's opinion on the film itself, he concurs with Tim that it is “refreshing” to get away from the usual Batman and Superman stuff.
Tim stumbles his way through the synopsis of Get On Up, again rejecting Gregg's offer to read the cards. Tim enjoyed this biopic of James Brown, even though Brown's music isn't really his jam. He says the film reminded him of the Ray Charles biopic Ray, starring Jamie Foxx. Gregg praises the cinematography as “Oscar worthy,” and says that both Ray Charles' life and the film deserve five bags.
For Gregg's On Cinema On Location segment, he chooses another spot from Oh, God! (1977, 98 mins), namely a street corner where John Denver's character's car fills with water in the movie. Tim seems ambivalent about the idea of Gregg doing locations from the same movie in consecutive weeks, but Gregg believes the audience will be fine with it. To close out the episode, Tim plugs the upcoming episodes of Decker.
