Tim goes “hog” wild about a new business venture and Gregg shows off another famous location in cinema history.
Synopsis
Tim opens the show by announcing a new business venture. Hoping to gain “a foothold” in a new area of the entertainment industry, he has founded Heidecker Publishing, and offers Gregg a book deal to publish his film essays, such as those from the On Cinema Facebook page. Gregg eagerly accepts. Tim then announces he is working on a book of his own, called Hog Shots, featuring photographs of motorcycles in Jackson Hole and elsewhere. He plans to use the proceeds from this book to fund Gregg's essay book. Gregg is skeptical that Hog Shots will make enough money, but Tim is convinced it will be a best-seller, and gets irritated with Gregg's pessimism.
The first film on the docket, Jupiter Ascending, features a bunch of cast and crew with names Tim has trouble reading. Most notable is Sean Bean, which Tim says should be pronounced “Seen Bean.” Tim and Gregg both found it exciting. Gregg says it is not realistic, but it is a nice “escape” and a “fun popcorn movie.” Tim also loved it, but only gives it three bags, to Gregg's consternation. Gregg adds two more bags “to slide over” to Tim's side, but Tim isn't having it.
The next film is a sequel, which Tim loves. Tim says it is a great film for all ages, and that he watched it with his son, who visited Tim over the past week. Shaking his obvious confusion, Gregg concurs that it is a great film, and says he hasn't seen anything like it.
Wrapping up today's episode is an On Cinema On Location segment. Gregg visits Jerry's house from the film Oh, God! (1977, 98 mins), starring George Burns and John Denver. Tim finishes by plugging the first episode of Decker, airing July 17.
After the lights dim, Gregg asks Tim about this son of his. Tim reveals he is 15 years old, from a previous marriage, and that they are estranged.
