Host Tim Heidecker and guest Gregg Turkington discuss this week's upcoming movies and Tom Hanks in the season five finale.

Synopsis

There is a hint of despondency in Tim's voice today; he says it has been a tough few weeks. He plans to head back to Jackson Hole after the show wraps, and “who knows” if he will ever return.

The duo jump straight into the movie reviews, starting with Dark Places, directed by….uh, Gils Packet Brenner, and with a bunch of no-names in the cast. The movie's lack of star power exasperates Tim, who laments that Tom Hanks is in so few films. Tim couldn't bear to watch the film due to all the “kid stuff,” as he is currently overloaded with taking care of a child. Gregg chimes in, taking Tim to task for neglecting Ayaka and little Tom Cruise Jr., who often show up at his door in tears.

The conversation descends into an argument about Tim's parental responsibilities. Tim believes he is not responsible for the child as Ayaka went against his wishes by having the baby, while Gregg insists that Tim must do something about Ayaka and Tom Cruise Jr. constantly showing up at his home. Gregg also reveals that he found the original list of his 500 Movies in 500 Days world record attempt in Ayaka's luggage, apparently having been stolen and hidden at some point by Tim. This means Gregg can combine his current list (up to 200 films) with the old one, putting him at 327 films, and he will reach 500 in December.

Tim wraps up the show by saying he is done with On Cinema, as it is a “waste” of his time and he is tired of everyone around him. He tells Gregg he is the new host of the show and gets up to leave as the lights darken. Gregg seems a bit surprised, but pleasantly so.
