Tim and Gregg review the unofficial sequel to 'Zero Dark Thirty' and the unofficial remake of Al Pacino's 'S1m0ne.'
Tim opens the season with a warm welcome, and nearly introduces his guest, Gregg Turkington, as the host by mistake. Tim provides a health update, saying he is feeling well, and his blood clots are gone. His feet have been tingling, though, and Gregg suggests Tim get tested for diabetes, but Tim dismisses the idea.
Lone Survivor features Mark Wahlberg, one of Tim's favorites, and Eric Banana- that is, Eric Bana. While reading the synopsis, Tim becomes irritated with the card for supposedly spoiling the ending. He calls it “a terrific movie” anyway, praising Mark Wahlberg and the action sequences, and awards it five bags. Gregg describes it as an “unofficial sequel” to Zero Dark Thirty (2012, 157 mins). He wishes Osama bin Laden would have been one of the villains in the movie, but still gives it five bags.
The next film, Her, deals with TV and computers, a big part of society today. Gregg states that this film is an “unofficial remake” of the Al Pacino film Simone (2002, 118 mins). He says the film is a new classic, and awards it five bags. Tim loved Her (not his ex-wife, he clarifies), and also awards it five bags.
Gregg airs a segment offering a “behind-the-scenes look” at his 500 Movies in 500 Days campaign, showing the viewers how he chooses which films to watch. He also asks the viewers for support. After the segment, Gregg reveals he is four movies ahead of schedule, but Tim loses interest and interrupts to close out the show.
