Tim and Gregg explore the drug underworld in “Snitch,” discuss “Dark Skies,” and unveil a new segment featuring a special interview with actor Joe Estevez.
After Tim's introduction, Gregg again expresses his desire to keep being on the show, to Tim's annoyance. The two jump straight into the reviews, starting with Snitch, directed by Ric Roman Wa-ha (Waugh, a “no-name director”) and starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Tim calls it a “very very great film” that shows “a different side of The Rock.” Gregg says that viewers going to the movies should go see The Hobbit instead, which is still playing in a few theaters. They rate the film four and five bags, respectively.
Dark Skies, Tim notes, is directed by another “three name director” (Scott Charles Stewart). Tim states that, due to an emergency, he was unable to finish seeing the film in theaters. He awards it three bags for now, under the assumption that it will earn more and he will update the rating after finishing it. Gregg suggests giving it five half-filled bags, since it is, in his judgment, worth five full bags.
Next up is a brand-new segment, Popcorn Classics Behind the Curtain. The segment involves “pulling back the curtain” of Hollywood, or interviewing notable Hollywood personalities about their careers. Today's guest is the one and only Joe Estevez, whom Gregg “met at a recent film premiere.” Tim spends four full minutes reading off an extensive list of Joe's filmography before finally airing the interview. Gregg asks Joe who should win at the Oscars, as well as his top ten films from his career. He also gets Joe's thoughts on physical media and his favorite movie theater snacks.
After the segment airs, Tim asks if Joe shared any secrets off-camera. Gregg says Joe expressed a love for soup & salad bars. Tim, seemingly fishing for some particular answer, asks the question again, only to get essentially the same answer. After the show ends, Gregg discusses some issue with the notecards after the theater darkens.
