The Archives burned down when Tim fell asleep while smoking. The exact circumstances are unclear. As Gregg described it, Tim dropped a lit cigarette which ignited a blanket; according to Tim, his vape overheated and set a cardboard box alight. In any case, the Archives were a total loss, along with most of Gregg's personal items. Tim was severely burned and disfigured, requiring many reconstructive surgeries. The Archives burned down when Tim fell asleep while smoking. The exact circumstances are unclear.  +In the aftermath of the fire, fans and supporters sent Gregg vast amounts of tapes, restoring his collection by the start of [[season9|season 9]] and allowing the VFA to operate again, this time out of the [[vfc]]. Tragically, however, the VFC also burned down, presumably due to an electrical fire, again destroying the entirety of the VFA except for a single tape, //A Vow to Kill// (1995, 97 mins). Gregg was able to recover from this loss as well, thanks to a tip from [[mark]], who discovered a collection of more than a thousand tapes for sale at an estate sale.
