//**Jack Reacher**// is a 2012 American action thriller film written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, starring [[tomcruise]] and based on Lee Child's 2005 novel //One Shot//.

The film was reviewed on the movie review show //[[ocatc]]//, during [[s01e09|S01E09]]. Host [[tim]] enjoyed the film, and later chose it as his favorite movie of 2012 after a second viewing. Frequent guest [[gregg]], who had reviewed the movie positively, dissented, changing his mind to feeling that the film was "amateurish" upon his own second viewing.[(cite:s01e10>[[s01e10]])]

Heidecker felt that, following the release of //Jack Reacher//, the long-running action spy franchise //[[bond]]// had run its course, and would be coming to an end following the release of the film //Skyfall//. He considered //Jack Reacher// a successor to the spy genre, and that //Bond// was no longer needed in the new generation of spy movies, which he foresaw containing many more //Jack Reacher// films.
