Though, that's not exactly true. Though, that's not exactly true.

-//[[oncinema|On Cinema]]// is a comedic soap opera formatted as a movie review show. It follows its two egotistical hosts as they vie for creative control of the show, ignoring the blatant lack of episode quality that their arguments engender. Their movie discussions are superficial, usually ending with both giving whatever movie discussed a perfect [[popcornscale|5 bags of popcorn rating]]. Through their ineptitude, they and the people around them suffer misfortune after misfortune, always coming back each week out of necessity.+//[[oncinema|On Cinema]]// is a comedic soap opera formatted as a movie review show, created by (the real-life) Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington. -Tim, the creator of the show, has only a surface level interest in movies, having most likely only started the program for attention. His lack of interest leads him to focus more on injecting his other interests into the program, including conservative politics, vanity projects, and blatant scams.  Gregg, his co-host, (though Tim will never admit to it,) is driven by two things: his love of movies, and more importantly, his need to be seen as important to the movie industry. Despite knowing little more than (and sometimes even less than) Tim about movies, he considers himself an expert on them, and an archivist, due solely to his [[greggscollection|horde of cheap VHS tapes]]. He will smugly dismiss anyone else who dares to try to encroach on his domain of movie knowledge, which amounts to little more than back of the box trivia. However, Gregg is incredibly inept at actually running a production, and any episodes he has creative control over is plagued with budget issues, poor editing, and is generally unwatchable. Gregg, his co-host, (though Tim will never admit to it,) is driven by two things: his love of movies, and more importantly, his need to be seen as important to the movie industry.  Tim, unable to move away from //On Cinema//, needs Gregg on the program to talk about movies. Gregg, unable to get anything off the ground without Tim's resources, continues to make appearances to demonstrate to the public his "expertise". Neither can stand the other, but neither can run a show without the other. Tim, unable to move away from //On Cinema//, needs Gregg on the program to talk about movies.  +
+//On Cinema// has developed into an ARG of sorts. Tim and Gregg would post on [[twitter|Twitter]] in character, with the fans playing along. The fanbase would split into "Timheads" and "Greggheads," each defending their chosen host, the extremely poor choices they've made, and ignore the blatant issues with the show. Many projects that Tim and Gregg propose over the course of the show are actually released, most notably //[[decker]]//, a real-life TV show created by the fictional Tim. Appearances in Marvel movies, such as //[[antman]]//, (remember the Baskin-Robbins guy?!) are integrated into the plot, with Tim and Gregg hitting the red carpet and doing interviews in character. There was even a theatrical release of [[misteramerica|an in-universe documentary]]!
 +
+In recent years, budget issues have led to the show going independent on the [[heinetwork]], a subscription service that directly funds the show. With their newfound freedom, the //On Cinema// universe has gone on to include [[xposed|a new mini-series]], [[deckofcards|a short film]], and bigger and more intricate story lines for the show itself.
 +
+Things can be overwhelming! Even long-time fans have a hard time following everything in this world. That's why we invite you to explore this wiki, but more importantly, just have fun with the show!
