It is based on a conspiracy theory by the director regarding the assassination of his step-son [[matt]] and the coverup of it by [[waymon]]. The film pins the blame for Matt's murder [[rosetti]] and [[amatogroup]], rather than the real reported assassin, [[neville]].

The film was originally slated to be //[[zombie22]]//, an unofficial sequel to //[[wp>Zombi 2]]//, with executive producer [[gregg]] writing the script, though director New scrapped it and pivoted the production to this feature film, without Gregg's involvement or even awareness.

The film premiered live on March 2, 2025, the first film to ever premiere on [[oscars]] night according to Gregg, during the //[[oscar12]]//, and received mixed reviews.
