After brief introductions, they jump straight into reviews, with Tim asking Gregg, "what do we have to look forward to in cinemas this week?" The first one to know about is //Deadpool 2//, a superhero movie "with a lot of action and a lot of heart." Gregg says this sequel will clear up any lingering confusion from the first //Deadpool// (2016, 108 mins.), and he plans to see it a second time over the weekend. "Anything else?" Tim asks. Gregg reviews //Show Dogs//, a kid's movie from the director of the //Scooby Doo// movies. He says it is great family entertainment for all ages. Tim, whose own popcorn ratings are conspicuously absent today, asks Gregg if he has any [[popcornclassics]] to recommend. And does he ever- he produces FOUR tapes. (Tim looks oddly horrified by this.) The first- and best- of the four is //Next of Kin//, starring Patrick Swayze (whose brother Don was in [[decker]]). This movie is "an unofficial sequel to //Dirty Dancing//" and all the other Swayze movies. Clocking in at 109 minutes, it receives Gregg's highest recommendation. Next up is //36 Hours to Die//, a "treat" featuring Treat Williams directed by Yves Simoneau. It also features Carroll O'Connor, a "harrowing heart attack scene," and embezzlement themes. The Canadian-made film is a breezy 90 minutes. Next is one of Gregg's favorites, //The Punisher//, a John Travolta film. It's about "war, crime, cruelty, and injustice, the four pillars of any exciting movie." At 122 minutes requires some schedule-shuffling, but it is a highly-recommended and underrated Marvel movie that //Ant-Man// fans will enjoy. Finally, //100 Kilos//, starring Glenn Plummer (no relation to Glenn Close), is a movie about drug dealers getting involved in nasty deals. Some of the deals they make are with undercover CIA agents, but Gregg stops the spoilers there. Today's episode includes an //On Cinema Markives// segment, featuring a clip of [[mark|Mark Prucksh]] auditioning for a role in a play. With that, Tim and Gregg sign off for this week. Tim exits behind the stage, looking rather crestfallen. ===== Ratings ===== **//Deadpool 2// (2018, 119 mins.)**\\ **[[tim|Tim]]**: No rating given \\ **[[gregg|Gregg]]**: 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 + 1 gift certificate to buy the first Deadpool on VHS **//Show Dogs// (2018, 91 mins.)**\\ **[[tim|Tim]]**: No rating given \\ **[[gregg|Gregg]]**: 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 + 1 decorative dog bowl
