Tim discusses the future of Decker and the state of Hollywood sequels while guest Gregg Turkington gives us a cool "behind-the-scenes" look at a classic cinema location.
Synopsis
Congratulations are in order for the successful completion of the first season of //decker//. Gregg says he continues to receive encouraging cards and letters, and presents Tim with a bouquet of flowers, a bottle of champagne, and a framed screenshot of //Decker's// first review. Tim, almost getting emotional, is grateful given the challenges of the past two years, and thanks Gregg and the audience. Gregg asks what the future of //Decker// looks like; Tim says he wants to bring in some big-name actors, but isn't sure about Gregg's character.
The only film up for review today is //Sin City: A Dame to Kill For//, with some tough-to-pronounce names in the cast. Tim loved the dark noir quality of the film, and awards it five bags. He uses this opportunity to plug the On Cinema mobile app, which he used to refresh his memory about the original //Sin City// film. Gregg also like the film, but he laments its failure to bring back several beloved cast members from the original movie. He draws a comparison to //Back to the Future Part II//, which flopped without Crispin Glover, and hopes Tim will not make the same mistake with //Decker//. Tim isn't receptive to the idea, describing Gregg's role as a "bit part." The two get into a prolonged argument about the merits of bringing beloved actors back for sequels.
Next up is onlocation. Gregg visits the schoolhouse featured in the film //Oh, God!// (1977, 98 mins). As soon as he announces this, however, Tim immediately shuts down the segment and upbraids Gregg for choosing yet another //Oh, God!// location. He tells Gregg there will be no more On Cinema On Location segments from now on. Shifting gears, he asks Gregg to do a popcornclassics on the fly. Gregg goes off set to retrieve a copy of //I.Q.//. Tim says he recognizes it from a previous episode, but Gregg says Tim is thinking of //Q&A//. He isn't sure, however, and wonders if Tim is right. He likes the film, though, praising the "comic genius" of Walter Matthau and the rest of the cast.
