The first episode since Gregg Turkington's dismissal marks a real turning point in Tim's life -- for the better!
Synopsis
Tim is pleased to welcome two guests familiar to the oncinemafamily: John Aprea (from the First Oscar Special) and Ayaka, from last season. Tim announces that he and Ayaka are now dating; John congratulates them. Tim then introduces John, who says he wants to do the show every week.
First up for review is //The World's End//, which Tim praises as "irreverent" and "a lot of fun," and gives it five bags. John also enjoyed it, praising the "good young actors" and mixing of "different elements," but only gives it four bags. Ayaka concurs with Tim's five bag rating.
Next is a five-bagger for Tim, //The Colony//, which he says he loves "so much," and so does Ayaka. John calls it a five-bagger-plus, saying he is a fan of Laurance Fishburne, and calls the film a "must-see."
To finish out the show, Tim turns it over to Ayaka, the new host of popcornclassics. She chooses //Airheads//, which she calls a "fun rock-and-roll movie" that you can just sit back and enjoy. John says he has not seen it in a long time, but it is still "worth a look." Tim seems very happy with the episode, declaring it a "fun" experience, and thanks John for bringing his expertise. He asks John out of the blue who his favorite director is; John says it is Francis Ford Coppola.
