Tim is happy to see Tom Cruise back in the spotlight, but a classic VHS debate sparks the Wrath of Gregg.
===== Synopsis =====
Tim and Gregg start by mentioning the success of //The Hobbit//, declaring it to be "a hit" and reiterating that Peter Jackson is the "king of movies." First up is //Jack Reacher//, featuring Tom Cruise, one of Tim's favorites. Gregg labels the film "an instant classic," and is glad to see Cruise back in action instead of "in the scandal sheets." Both award it their highest possible scores.
For //Cirque du Soleil: World Away//, Tim says he loved the film, calling it "even better" than actually going to see the circus itself. Gregg concurs, recommending that viewers go see the film if they are unable to see Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas. Tim gives it 4 bags, as it's a bit too long and partially "in French." Gregg initially goes with four, but abruptly switches to five.
Gregg's Popcorn Classic is //Dick Tracy//, directed by Warren Beatty, but Tim suddenly interrupts to do a Popcorn Classic of his own, whipping out //Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home//. Tim immediately resurrects the [[startrek]] debate from an earlier [[pod8|podcast]] episode, in which Tim and Gregg disagreed over whether //Star Trek IV// or //Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan// (1982, 113 minutes) takes place in San Francisco. Tim, hoping to settle the debate, reads the synopsis off the back of the VHS box, ostensibly proving to Gregg that the plot of //Star Trek IV// involves the crew traveling back in time to 1986 San Francisco, and declares the debate settled. Unconvinced, Gregg immediately reiterates his conviction that //Star Trek II// in fact takes place in San Francisco, not //Star Trek IV//, and pronounces Tim's VHS copy to be a bootleg, as it lacks a "hologram" and a security seal. The two bicker about the issue, continuing to argue after the lights dim.
