Heidecker felt that, following the release of //Jack Reacher//, the long-running action spy franchise //[[bond]]// had run its course, and would be coming to an end following the release of the film //Skyfall//. He considered //Jack Reacher// a successor to the spy genre, and that //Bond// was no longer needed in the new generation of spy movies, which he foresaw containing many more //Jack Reacher// films.
