**Joaquin Gabriel Neville** was a suspect in the murder of [[matt]]. He was apprehended by Mexican authorities after turning himself in, and was extradited to the United States, coming into custody of the San Bernardino County Police the morning of May 2nd, 2024.[(cite:pressconference>[[sb_da_press_conference]])]

According to San Bernardino District Attorney [[waymon]], Newman was involved in an extortion ring involving explicit pictures of high school and college students, blackmailing the victims in exchange for Bitcoin. Neville, a cousin of one of the victims, allegedly visited the Newman household on February 12th, 2024, where he was fired upon by Newman, returning fire before fleeing to Mexico. Newman was killed in the altercation.
