====== Breaking character ======

**Breaking character** is when the veil lifts, and the absurdity of what's happening causes one of the actors in the show to break out laughing. Usually these occur during an [[oscarspecials|Oscar Special]], as the live format prevents editing and multiple takes from covering these incidents. However, there are some rare cases it occurs outside of a live special.

  * In [[pod49]], a portion is accidentally left in the record of Gregg bursting out laughing during his complaints about Tim's talking about politics and [[goldline]].
  * In [[s03e05|S3E05]], Tim can be heard and seen stifling a laugh while Gregg reviews //Smurfs 2//. (1:57)
  * [[oscar2|Second Oscar Special]]:
    * Tim and Gregg can be seen and heard giggling throughout the Oscar Memory Lane tribute. (1:07:55)
    * Gregg, Tim, and Mark crack up during the Sally Kellerman interview when Gregg brings up the [[startrek|Star Trek]]/San Francisco debate. (1:23:47)
  * In the [[oscar4|Fourth Oscar Special]], Gregg cracks up while talking about one of his VHS tapes. (31:10)
  * Gregg stifles a laugh in the [[oscarour]] after the whiteboard stand falls, and Mark goes to pick it up. Some of the crew can be heard laughing as well. (18:13)
  * At the end of the [[oscar5|Fifth Oscar Special]], Tim loses it while yelling at the crew to turn off the alien music and sound effects. (2:18:05)
